After consideration of several companies specializing in concrete staining and etching treatments, we selected Concrete Colorscapes to perform the final treatment for our recently completed patio room project. After our first meeting with owner Brad Olmsted, it became clear that this form of artistic expression is his passion. Working with Brad, we selected a designed pattern that offered the effect of traditional tile. Once the design foundation was established, we collaborated with Brad to personalize the basic design, transforming the final design into a truly unique presentation.

Update it.

We were looking to update our basement with a more modern look – one that would stand up to the daily abuse of teenagers. Carpet was out. We liked the idea of stained concrete, so we met with a few people.  What set Brad apart from the rest was that he seemed more like an artist than a contractor. He’s very knowledgeable and is dedicated to doing the best possible job.

We hired Brad with high expectations and we can safely say he met and exceeded them. We couldn’t be more happy with the outcome and truly appreciate Brad’s ability to make our basement feel like a whole new room. Brad’s professionalism and knowledge of concrete and stain applications, as well as time spent working with us on color selection and providing references certainly helped in making our final decisions. Brad did not disappoint with the ART and science of perfecting the application and cutting the complimenting (and arrow-straight) border and the TLC he put into making sure every detail was cared for even under a tight time schedule. The floor is very easy to care for - simply sweep and mop as necessary. Being ‘clean freaks’ by nature, we really appreciate the floor always looks clean. No more carpet spots! We’d been wanting to make the transition from carpet to concrete stain for five+ years, and wish we’d made the change sooner.
